A recognition that rewards an Italian excellence in high-performance thermoplastic compounds
Vedano Olona, February 10, 2025 – LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A. officially joins the elite group of Italian companies recognized as a Historical Trademark of National Interest, a certification that rewards production continuity and the historical value of companies representing Made in Italy. This significant recognition comes in a special year: our 80th anniversary.
"This recognition is a tribute to the journey we have built over the years, combining innovation, sustainability, and attention to people. We are proud to be part of Italy's industrial history and will continue working towards an even more ambitious future", says Michela Conterno, CEO of LATI.
Founded in 1945 by Cosimo Conterno, LATI anticipated the times with a pioneering vision of circular economy: transforming World War II military leftovers into new resources by recycling materials. An innovative insight that marked the beginning of a long history of research, development, and sustainability.
LATI – an acronym for Lavorazioni Articoli Tecnici Industriali – has always been synonymous with excellence in high-performance thermoplastic compounds. Like in cooking, our technicians create unique recipes, combining different ingredients to produce materials with extraordinary properties: self-extinguishing, thermally conductive, reinforced, self-lubricating, and much more. These materials then become an integral part of key components in various strategic sectors, including:
Our history goes hand in hand with the history of plastics, first and foremost nylon. We were pioneers in using FEM simulation and introducing glass fibers in polymers, anticipating market developments. Our focus on quality led us to be the first company in Italy to certify UNI EN ISO 9001.
Like any great story, ours is made of challenges, changes, and bold decisions. In the most difficult moments, we have always invested in people, sustainability, and social responsibility. This commitment has led to concrete results:
Entering the Historical Trademarks of National Interest register means being recognized as a company that has shaped Italy's industrial history. We dedicate this achievement to those who made our success possible: our people, customers, and partners, who over the past 80 years have helped build a solid, innovative company focused on the future.
Eighty years of history, eighty years of innovation, eighty years of people. A milestone that is just the beginning of a new phase of growth, always focused on quality, technology, and sustainability.
