LATI, a leading manufacturer of technical thermoplastic compounds, is proud to announce that it has achieved Great Place to Work certification.
Founded in 1945 by Cosimo Conterno, LATI is a historic family-owned company that has successfully developed under the leadership of Conterno family members. With two plants in Italy, in the Lombardy region, and a production potential of approx. 40,000 tonnes per year, LATI qualifies as one of the most important European producers of engineering thermoplastics. Also present abroad, with a production site in China and several sales subsidiaries in America, Asia and Europe, LATI is informally referred to as a 'pocket-sized multinational'.
As of July 2022, LATI became a Benefit Company, the transition for the company came as a natural evolution of its commitment to issues such as sustainability, caring for people and the land, since it was founded and started its war remnants recycling business.
"The Great Place to Work certification recognises our commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment, where employees can thrive and contribute to the company's growth. We are proud to be recognised as a company that values the organisational well-being of its employees and the social environment in which it is located," said Michela Conterno, LATI CEO.
LATI received the Great Place to Work certification based on the results of a survey conducted among its employees both in Italy and abroad. The survey revealed that a high percentage of employees feel they are treated fairly and impartially, that the workplace is physically safe, and that employees intend to stay with the company for the long term. Furthermore, employees stated that they feel proud to work for the company and believe that customers would value the service provided. The best results of the survey were obtained in the areas of Pride, Respect and Credibility. Employees were also proud of the company's commitment to investing in new technologies, human resources and safety, as well as its code of ethics, which is enforced by the management. Furthermore, they emphasised the company's social responsibility in supporting projects inside and outside the company.
In fact, LATI places corporate social responsibility at the heart of its business decisions and integrates profit objectives with a commitment to have a positive impact on society and the environment. The company believes that profit is not an end but a means to create economic and social value and, likewise, that prosperity must come before profit.
"We are grateful for this recognition and will continue to work on continuously improving the quality of life of our employees and the sustainability of our company," said Laura Riva, Group HR Director.
