For polymers, contact with foodstuffs and water is a crucial issue; it becomes especially crucial when they are used in products employed for containing, processing and carrying the things we eat and drink.
From fields and farms, throughout the entire processing pipeline, until they reach our tables, safety is paramount.
LATI guarantees the quality of its materials and their compliance with international food safety standards.
Its solutions range from PE to PEEK, and include transparent materials, such as PPSU and biobased materials, structural, antistatic, self-lubricating compounds and materials detectable by metal detectors.

Management of drinking water

LATI provides NSF, WRAS, ACS, and KTW-approved compounds for transporting cold and hot drinking water.
It supplies reinforced materials that can replace the brass used in valves and taps of all kinds; these materials can also be used in couplings and manifolds, and in internal parts of boilers and meters.
They are resistant to disinfectants and descaling agents and their weight and cost are a fraction of those of their metal counterparts.

Food production and processing

The safety of what ends up on our tables is a hugely important issue at all stages of the production pipeline.
Structural materials suitable for contact with foodstuffs are replacing metal.
Antistatic grades for application in ATEX environments are used in the presence of feed, flour and other potentially explosive powders.
MDT compounds, detectable by metal detector and X-rays, prevent the risk of accidental contamination of food with plastic residues

Coffee Machines

Regardless of whether we are talking about home or professional coffee machines, or ones that use pods or ground coffee, LATI compounds are at work to ensure they give you a perfect cup of coffee.
Inside the machine, you will find PA-, PPA-, PPS-, PPSU- and PEEK-based materials resistant to pressure, infusion temperatures and descaling agents, while externally aesthetic parts ensure high dimensional stability.
And naturally, all of them are compatible with contact with our favourite beverage.
