Following the success of the <strong>Multifix Bio<\/strong> junction boxes in 2022 \u2013 made with sustainable HDPE contained in the <strong>LATIGEA 45\/7-GW compound<\/strong> \u2013 the partnership is strengthened with the introduction of <strong>LATIECO compounds<\/strong> in the new range of <strong>RESI9 DPN XE circuit breakers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is an MCB and why is it Crucial for Electrical Safety<\/h2>\n\n<p>An <strong>MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker)<\/strong> is a fundamental protection device, designed to automatically interrupt current flow in case of overload or short circuit. Compliant with <strong>EN 60898 standard<\/strong>, the MCB is a compact and modular solution widely used in residential, commercial and industrial contexts. It combines thermal and magnetic protection to ensure safety and reliability in electrical panels.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Challenges in Designing a Sustainable MCB<\/h2>\n\n<p>To ensure excellent performance even in a green context, the technical requirements for materials used in MCB manufacturing are extremely stringent:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mechanical strength<\/strong> to contain internal overpressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electric arc management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Thermal and environmental stability<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Self-extinguishing properties and electrical safety (UL94, GWFI, etc.)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dimensional precision and aesthetic quality<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Suitability for LASER marking<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LATIECO 62 CR H2 G\/20-V2hf: Sustainability without Compromise<\/h2>\n\n<p>To meet these requirements, <strong>Schneider Electric chose the LATIECO 62 CR H2 G\/20-V2HF compound<\/strong>, developed by LATI with a high percentage of ECONYL\u00ae (the <strong>PA6 from post-industrial and post-consumer chemical recycling<\/strong> by Aquafil). The material successfully passed all required tests, confirming the same performance as the fossil version: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>UL94 V-2 class<\/strong> up to 0.75 mm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GWFI of 960\u00b0C<\/strong> at 1 and 2 mm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Excellent aesthetic finish and LASER markability<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Concrete Result: -25% Carbon Footprint<\/h2>\n\n<p>Thanks to the use of <strong>LATIECO 62 CR H2 G\/20-V2HF<\/strong>, Schneider Electric engineers achieved a <strong>25% reduction in the carbon footprint of the plastic housing of MCB switches<\/strong>, without any loss in performance.
