<strong data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"434\">Michelangelo Agostinetto<\/strong> took on an ambitious challenge: to create durable, moldable, and customizable motorcycle components through <strong data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"565\">3D printing<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"569\">A project realized thanks to the collaboration with <strong data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"636\">Fabula 3D<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"652\">LATI3Dlab<\/strong>, commissioned by <strong data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"691\">Nicola Martini<\/strong>, better known as <strong data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"730\">Mr Martini<\/strong>, an iconic customizer of handcrafted motorcycles.<\/p><hr data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"776\"><h2 data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"840\"><strong data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"840\">From Printing to Testing: the Search for the Perfect Material<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"1196\">During the creation of the first prototypes, Michelangelo encountered some issues related to the <strong data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"973\">material strength<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1016\">workability of the printed parts<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1020\">Finding a solution capable of ensuring <strong data-start=\"1062\" data-end=\"1086\">mechanical strength<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1104\">flexibility<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1107\" data-end=\"1132\">heat moldability<\/strong> is not simple: a technical yet versatile material is needed.<\/p><p data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1449\">This is where <strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1254\">Marco Ardesi from Fabula 3D<\/strong> comes into play as a printing consultant, and <strong data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1302\">LATI3Dlab<\/strong>, which provided <strong data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1350\">technical filament spools<\/strong> for tests on <strong data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1387\">mechanical strength<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1389\" data-end=\"1406\">deformability<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1429\">shape memory<\/strong> after heating.<\/p><p data-start=\"1451\" data-end=\"1514\">Double samples were made to test parameters such as:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1647\"><li data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1555\"><p data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1555\">quality of the <strong data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1552\">aesthetic finish<\/strong>;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1602\"><p data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1602\"><strong data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1582\">heat resistance<\/strong> and bending;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1647\"><p data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1647\"><strong data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1644\">stability after thermal deformation<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><hr data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1652\"><h2 data-start=\"1654\" data-end=\"1715\"><strong data-start=\"1657\" data-end=\"1715\">LATI3Dlab Technical Materials for Excellent Results<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"1956\">The filaments provided by LATI3Dlab \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1752\" data-end=\"1777\">LATAMID 12 AM H2 K\/15<\/strong> (PA12 with 15% carbon fiber) and <strong data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"1835\">LATER G HT AM K\/10<\/strong> (PETG with enhanced thermal properties) \u2014 were printed with a <strong data-start=\"1891\" data-end=\"1920\">closed chamber printer<\/strong> and a <strong data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"1953\">high-temperature nozzle<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"2443\">During the modeling phase, <strong data-start=\"1991\" data-end=\"2010\">Claudio Concina<\/strong> from the Mr Martini team deformed the artifacts using hot air, a hammer, and pliers, achieving excellent results.<br data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2127\">The <strong data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2155\">LATAMID 12 AM H2 K\/15<\/strong> proved ideal for such applications: heat deformable, stable, resistant, and free of memory effect.<br data-start=\"2280\" data-end=\"2283\">Performance further improves after a <strong data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2392\">hot crystallization treatment (post-annealing)<\/strong>, which increases the cohesion and stability of the piece.<\/p><hr data-start=\"2445\" data-end=\"2448\"><h2 data-start=\"2450\" data-end=\"2495\"><strong data-start=\"2453\" data-end=\"2495\">Design, Innovation, and Creative Freedom<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"2497\" data-end=\"2794\">In the world of <strong data-start=\"2513\" data-end=\"2547\">motorcycle customization<\/strong>, durable yet workable materials are essential.<br data-start=\"2602\" data-end=\"2605\">Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/lati.com\/en\/services\/additive-manufacturing-3d-printing\/\">3D printing<\/a> and <strong data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2663\">technical materials <a href=\"http:\/\/lati3dlab.com\">LATI3Dlab<\/a><\/strong>, Mr Martini can now design and create unique components, with sustainable time and costs compared to traditional techniques.<\/p><p data-start=\"2796\" data-end=\"3068\">Today, <strong data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2829\">frame scanning<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2835\" data-end=\"2855\">part printing<\/strong> are integral parts of Mr Martini&#8217;s workflow: two motorcycles already in production feature <strong data-start=\"2957\" data-end=\"2989\">sides and internal components<\/strong> made of <strong data-start=\"3004\" data-end=\"3026\">LATER G HT AM K\/10<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"3027\" data-end=\"3030\">And more projects are already underway&#8230;<\/p><p data-start=\"3070\" data-end=\"3261\">It is difficult to predict what Mr Martini will offer in the future: certainly, with <strong data-start=\"3146\" data-end=\"3183\">LATI3Dlab&#8217;s innovative materials<\/strong>, he will continue to transform his vision of motorcycle design into
