<strong>Artemide<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Mercedes-Benz Style<\/strong>, for the creation of the <strong>Ameluna<\/strong> lamp: an icon of contemporary design that combines <strong>aesthetics, technology, and sustainability<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFor this project, Artemide chose a <strong>LATI thermally conductive compound<\/strong>, capable of simultaneously meeting <strong>structural, thermal, and environmental<\/strong> requirements.<\/p>\n<h2>Ameluna: Design, Light, and Integrated Technology<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Ameluna<\/strong> lamp (a fusion of <em>Artemide, Mercedes, and Luna<\/em>) represents a <strong>new frontier in smart lighting<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe transparent PMMA dome, with asymmetrical and futuristic lines, reflects and diffuses light generated by a <strong>series of high-efficiency LEDs<\/strong> integrated into a suspended <strong>circular ring<\/strong> that serves as both structural support and heat sink.<\/p>\n<p>This ring, a fundamental part of the optical and mechanical system, is made from a <strong>thermally conductive and flame-retardant compound<\/strong> developed by <strong>LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A.<\/strong>, specifically formulated to ensure <strong>high performance in designer LED applications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>The Material: LATICONTHER 62 CEG\/500-V0hf1<\/h2>\n<p>To meet the strict technical specifications of the project, Artemide adopted <strong>LATICONTHER 62 CEG\/500-V0HF1<\/strong>, a <strong>PA6-based compound<\/strong> with <strong>isotropic ceramic fillers<\/strong> for high thermal conductivity.<\/p>\n<h3>Main Compound Properties:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>High and isotropic thermal conductivity<\/strong>, ideal for uniform heat dissipation from fluidity<\/strong>, despite the high ceramic filler content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks to these characteristics, the material ensures <strong>long-term reliability<\/strong> and <strong>high mechanical strength<\/strong>, enabling <strong>production in a single monolithic piece<\/strong> \u2014 a significant challenge considering the component&#8217;s size and complexity.<\/p>\n<h2>Process Simulation and Optimization<\/h2>\n<p>The Ameluna project required intensive <strong>co-design<\/strong> activity between Artemide and LATI technicians, who supported the development phase through: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis<\/strong> to verify thermal and mechanical performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flow simulations<\/strong> to optimize mold filling and cooling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Molding setup definition<\/strong> to ensure part flatness and circularity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These activities enabled validation of the component&#8217;s <strong>geometric
